I chose to become a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice because I didn’t want to stay at school any longer and wanted to work and earn money, but still want to continue with my education. An Apprenticeship allows my to do both of these things.
My Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship started with 8 weeks foundation at ATG Training. Following this I go to my employer where I’ll be studying for my BTEC & NVQ.
My ambition is to continue learning whilst working towards and achieving an HNC in Mechanical Engineering. When I reach that level I intend to continue my studies and achieve a Master’s Degree, all whilst working for my employer and earning a salary.
An Apprenticeship is just a different way than school and University of getting to that level. I’ll also gain valuable engineering manufacturing experience which purely academic study cannot gain me.
