There are three different Apprenticeship levels – Intermediate, Advanced and Higher. Choosing the right level of Apprenticeship for you is pretty easy. First, it’s important to understand what each of these qualifications means:

• Intermediate Apprenticeships are Level 2 qualifications, which are equivalent to GCSE.
• Advanced Apprenticeships are Level 3 qualifications, which are equivalent to A Levels.
• Higher Apprenticeships are Level 4 or 5, equivalent to a foundation degree, Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND) or degree.

So really, it depends on the qualifications that you’ve already achieved as to the level of Apprenticeship that’s going to be best suited to you. It’s important to note, though, that most employers don’t recruit for Level 4 or 5 apprentices as this is usually something that you will progress to with your employer once you have completed your Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships with them.
