Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship has been designed to train and accredit those working in both Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Maintenance roles.

The Apprenticeship has qualifications that will be gained over the 3 years, the course is run. Foundation training is carried out at ATG's specialist training centre in Aylesbury, giving the candidate the required health and safety knowledge and skills to be able to begin their programme in the work placement.

Once in your place of work, you will be visited by a training officer on a regular basis to achieve the Level 3 Extended Diploma. You will also need to attend the ATG Training Centre once a week for up to 2 years.

To ensure that Apprentices back up their engineering training with the verbal and mathmatical skills needed the candidate will carry out Maths and English Functional Skills to ensure that they can carry out their job requirements to the best of their ability.

Advanced Apprentices undertake a period of structured off-the-job foundation training with the following outcomes.

  • Producing components using hand fitting techniques
  • Maintaining mechanical devices and equipment
  • Maintaining electrical equipment/systems
