An Apprenticeship with Martin-Bakeris a great way to learn while you earn. You will receive technical training, an experienced mentor and a recognised qualification at the end.

University isn’t the only way to enter the workforce. By combining classroom study with on-the-job learning, our Apprenticeship Scheme provides a genuine alternative to university and a solid foundation for a career in engineering. Typically lasting four years, the scheme offers the training, guidance and support you need to develop valuable skills, earn sought-after qualifications and establish yourself in your chosen career

The successful apprentice will be selected to work in one of several departments, including the Machine Shop and Assembly areas, or Inspection Departments. There are rotations around the departments which aid the on the job learning, in addition to the 10 week foundation training at ATG Training and the day release over two years.

All our apprentices will get the opportunity to gain hands on practical experience working alongside some of the most experienced and knowledgeable people in our business. Apprentices experience a range of placements enabling them to learn the processes and skills that are essential for a career in Engineering.

Training to be Provided

Advanced Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship Training to include:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering

  • Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering

  • Functional Skills if applicable

  • Employee Rights & Responsibilities

  • Personal Learning & Thinking Skills

  • All our roles contain a component of working in a team and we are looking for people who can work well as part of team and perhaps ultimately want to lead teams

Qualifications Required

5 x GCSEs at grades A*-C (or equivalent) including English, Maths and Science
