Apprentice Cycle Mechanic

An Apprenticeship with Bike Rehab is a great way to learn while you earn. You will receive technical training, an experienced mentor and a recognised qualification at the end. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is keen to develop their career in the cycle industry, starting with this apprenticeship role to become a fully qualified Cytech Level 2 trained professional cycle mechanic. We aim to create exceptional mechanics and will train you to the highest levels of customer service and develop your skills to keep at the forefront of bicycle technology. We will take care of your development and continuous improvement. We offer a rewarding and challenging working environment which includes a staff purchase programme and opportunities to further your career with us. You will learn how to fully service a bicycle which includes: Brake fitting and adjustment Adjusting gears Fitting chains and cassettes Threading and fitting bottom brackets Fitting headsets Installing forks Wrapping bar tape Straightening hangers Truing wheels Hub servicing Fitting tyres and tubes

Training to be Provided

  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance & Installation - Cycles pathway
  • Cytech 2
  • Level 2 Certificate in Cycle Maintenance
  • Functional Skills in Maths English & IT if applicable
  • Employee Responsibilities and Rights
  • Personal Learning & Thinking Skills

Working weekly hours

We usually do two early shifts (7.30am - 3.30pm) and three late shifts (10am-6pm) per week, however this frequency changes based on our rota. If a Saturday is worked the remaining hours are added to one of the weekday shifts. Monday – Friday 7.30am-6pm, Saturday 8.30am-2pm. 37.5 hours per week
