Apprentice Cycle Mechanic

An Apprenticeship with Freeborn Bicycles is a great way to learn while you earn. You will receive technical training, an experienced mentor and a recognised qualification at the end.

Freeborn Bicycles are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Cycle Mechanic to join their busy workshop team. You will learn how to maintain and repair a wide range of big brand bikes stocked by Freeborn, including Devinci, Specialized and Enduro.

The role will involve:

  •          Carrying out repairs on a range of road and mountain bikes.
  •          Completing Pre-Delivery Inspections, ensuring all new bikes meet British Standards.
  •          Building wheels to a high standard.

Completing strip-downs and re-builds of bikes.

Training to be Provided

Cycle Maintenance Apprenticeship Training to include:

  •          Level 2 NVQ in Engineering Maintenance (Cycles pathway)
  •          Cytech Technical Two
  •          Level 2 Certificate in Cycle Maintenance
  •          Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT (if applicable)
  •          Employment Responsibilities & Rights (ERR)
  •          Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS)
